A simple approach to the wonder of life, with its challenges and rewards.
A thoughtful perspective driven by a desire to understand.
"Shavings of Sanity" in honor of a book I wrote that told more truth than it should have. Now I struggle to only speak the safer truths.
"Those who know much speak little. Their actions are their orations. Watch the quiet ones and learn."

Gasoline Prices
It just doesn't seem we give much credit to these things.
What I mean is – I see the difficulties I face each day, but I may not notice with clarity what difficulties other people are facing.
Its a common enough problem. It's almost a form of myopia. I can only clearly see what is right in front of me. I can only truly focus on the events of my life.
Gasoline Prices
$7.55 per gallon in Israel – we pay 7.75 Shekel for a Liter of 95 octane gas. Since the exchange rate now has the Shekel worth a little more than a Quarter ($0.257307), that means the Liter of gas costs $1.99 (+ another half penny in decimals). Since a Liter is a little bigger than a Quart (exactly 0.26417205236 Gallon), the US equivalent of what we pay for gasoline is $7.55 per gallon. We have been paying nearly $8 a gallon since we came here 4.5 years ago. We're pretty jealous of the price you pay.
